Drawing is a great way to record the life around you.
I always carry a sketchbook with me, when I travel. And travelling does not have to be to distant locations and fancy places it can be about small details and experiences trough out the day.
Even the smallest observations can make a great recording of a day in your life.
Last summer my two daughters and I went to a sandwich- and juice bar.
After a while they wanted to visit a store, and I stayed at the juicebar.
Aimed with my sketchbook I began to draw our choice of food and watching the seaguls who apparently are use to finding crumbs on the tiles pretty close to the guests.
Recording your day or your travel
I often make sketches without colours or just a few to capture the essens of the motif.
I sketch sitting on a bench at the harbour, drawing boats, drinking coffe and suddenly eyeing a woman in a yellow raincoat.
Or when looking at dog training and sketching different small scenarios on the training course.
Drawing a poster column while drinking coffee, sitting at the sea side looking at a church or an old building. I sometimes even park my car and sit inside it to draw.
At another occasion I sat on a small hill next to an airport. In it self not the most spectacular view, but by adding some details about the airplanes, checking them on the flight app on my phone, suddenly the drawing becomes a recording not only of my afternoon, but also of the airplanes above my head.
